Plant Sale Committee Update

FALL PLANT SALE, Thursday, November 3rd 2p-6p and Friday, November 4th 10a-6p

Saturday, November 5th, will be the clean-up day.

Spring 2023 Plant Sale dates: Thursday, April 27th and Friday, April 28th.

It’s time to start planning the Fall Sale. Plant Digs will begin in late September, early October.  Contact Kathy Sumner for questions, ideas and volunteering.

What we need:

  1. Pictures of the plants you would like to donate.Send your pictures to Gena Spears. If possible, take pictures, while the plants are in bloom.
  2. List of plants you want to donate, estimate the quantity of each plant. (i.e., 10 Shasta Daisies), specific name if known (i.e., Becky Shasta) Send list to Kathy Sumner
  3. Names of members who want to help with plant digs. Specify when you’re available, weekdays, weekends.Please send your information to Kathy Sumner.
  4. If you would like help to dig from your garden, please let us know.
  5. Any plants that are not blooming may be dug in fall. Examples:

Astilbe, Bleeding Heart, Bearded Iris, Daylily (NO orange), Japanese Iris, Lily of the Valley,

Oriental Lilies, Peony, Veronica, Oriental Poppies, Phlox, Hostas, Coneflowers, Shasta, Tickseed, Coreopsis, Coral Bells, Any bulbs.

Please no Walking Iris

If there are too many of a particular plant, we may ask you to hold it until the Spring Sale.

Norcross Community Market-Weds, June 22nd - Information/Education Booth

Sustainable Norcross Commission is partnering with Norcross Garden Club to host an information/education booth at the Norcross Community Market (located in Thrasher Park). The topic on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, is "National Pollinator Week".

Volunteers are needed from 3p to 7p to assist with setup or cleanup and to help with giving information on the programs to attendees. There will be activities for children to learn about native pollinators and the plants they need to survive.  And information for children and adults to help understand the benefits of insects and to overcome their fear of insects.

Dogwood District Meetings

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend the Dogwood District Meetings. It’s a fantastic way to network with other clubs and to make new friendships.
