Cottage Garden Weeding, Tuesday, Aug 2nd 8am-noon

Leanne and a few members are meeting Tuesday morning, August 2, to tidy up the cottage garden.  Please join the group anytime between 8 am and noon.

If you can’t make it on Tuesday morning, please come by anytime, for a 1/2 hour of weeding or deadheading. Every little bit helps. Bring a friend!  Contact Pam Cammarata for questions and tasks.

Summer Book Club-Thursday, August 18th, 7:00P at the Cottage

Join club members in reading Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants” by Robin Wall Kimmerer.  Highly recommended read by Staci Catron during the Cherokee Garden Club Library tour at the Atlanta History Center. An excerpt from the Amazon review: “Drawing on her life as an Indigenous scientist, and as a woman, Kimmerer shows how other living beings―asters and goldenrod, strawberries and squash, salamanders, algae, and sweetgrass―offer us gifts and lessons, even if we've forgotten how to hear their voices.”

Writing Skills Needed

Do you like to write? We have a HUGE need for several members who like to write for Awards, Publications (Dogwood Dialogue, Garden Gateways, etc.) and Grants. Please consider this opportunity to contribute your time and talent to our club. We really need someone to step up to lead this effort. Many pencils make light work, but we also need a lead/coordinator.  Next submissions for Dogwood Dialogue are due by August 15th

Please respond to Nance or Jenny: norcrossgardenclubpresidents@gmail.com
