More About Plant Digs

·         Potting soil is available in Dorothy Archers side yard. It’s covered with a tarp. There is a shovel available for your use. Please bring your own buckets or containers for the soil. Remember this soil is for potting plants for the plant sale.

·         Besides digging plants, there are important tasks such as potting, labeling, counting and recording the plant quantities from each dig. Anyone can help with these tasks if you prefer not to dig plants or have physical limitations. If you’re not familiar with digging or any of the other tasks, we will train as we go. Although it’s work, we have a lot of fun at the digs and get to hang out with our gardening friends. Please consider joining a plant dig!

·         Individual Garden Digs-if you are digging plants from your own garden, please provide a list of the plants and quantities by type of plant as soon as you have it. Please send it to Jeanette Shewbert. It doesn’t have to be fancy-a copy of a hand-written list is perfect. Take a picture and email or text to Jeanette (jmosowski@gmail.com); 770-329-1411)

And PLEASE consider volunteering to help with organizing or leading a dig. Kathy: (678-357-8684)

RED, WHITE and BLUE GARDENS!

Let’s Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in our Gardens!

Remember that now is the time to start planning your personal red, white, and blue garden. We also need red, white and blue flowering plants for the Cottage Garden. If you have any that you can share, please let us know. Text Kathy 678-357-8684 or respond to this email. See the back page of the latest Garden Gateways (Spring 2026) for more information about the Garden Club of Georgia’s Plant America Community Project to celebrate our country’s 250th Birthday!

Don’t miss this article, “A Garden Club Returns with Gardens of Hope in Lyons, GA” by Linda Doiron, page 4 of Garden Gateways. A great example of people coming together to restore a building that now serves two purposes. Congratulations to the Lyons Garden Club for keeping their club alive and now providing community support through their many garden-related projects and fundraising efforts.
