Tuesday, February 10th Day Meeting at the Cottage

9:30AM check in, refreshments, 10:00AM business meeting.  Program begins at 10:30AM.

·        plastic grocery bags for the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry.

·        cash for raffle tickets. Proceeds from the raffle go to our Scholarship Fund

Annual Dues Payment-PLEASE READ and RESPOND ASAP

Dues for 2025-26 must be paid by February 15th 2026.  This is a hard deadline, as we must submit an updated roster to the Garden Club of GA and pay our GCG dues before the end of February. If you are unable to attend the February meeting, please respond to this email to advise us of your intention to renew and plan to pay by one of the options listed below.  If you have decided not to renew membership, please let us know by February 15th.  Members who do not respond by February 15th will be removed from the roster. 

Dues are $60 per member. Two household members may hold membership for a single payment of $70. You may pay your membership dues at the February meeting with cash, check, debit or credit card. Or mail a check payable to Norcross Garden Club to PO Box 576, Norcross GA 30091. SAVE THE DATE for Georgia Arbor Day Celebration

Thursday, February 19th, 10:00AM at Stripling Elementary School, 3rd Grade classes

(6155 Atlantic Boulevard, Norcross, 30071)

Norcross Garden Club partners with the Norcross Tree Preservation Board to sponsor and host this event annually.  The children will learn about trees from Guest speakers and will watch (and perhaps participate) in the planting of a new tree on school grounds.  There will be goody bags to hand out to the students.  Leanne is also making Rice Krispy Tree treats. Garden Club Field Trip to the Flower Show-Friday February 20th

We are trying to organize a group trip to the Flower Show on Friday, February 20th.

A few members have ABG membership which includes a guest pass.  If a guest pass is available, the cost to enter the flower show for members and guest is $10 each. Without a guest pass, if there are 10 or more in the group, the cost is $24.95.  The non-group rate admission cost is $32.95.

If you are interested in this field trip, please come prepared to pay with cash or check for your ticket at the February meeting.  If you have any questions about the trip, please contact Cathy Nelmes (404.455.9537)

Monday, February 16th Gwinnett Masters Gardeners Meeting, 12:00PM

LOCATION: Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA

TOPIC: Christine Todd will give a presentation on “Getting Started in Hydroponics” GCMGA meetings are free and open to the public. If you would like to join in our potluck lunch at 11:30, please bring a dish to share.

2026 UGA Gwinnett Extension Office Annual Plant Sale

Enhance your landscape this spring! Choose from a variety of flowering and fruit plants to support 4-H and Master Gardener projects. Don’t miss out! Preorders start Friday, January 2. Complete the 2026 UGA Plant Sale Order Form and submit it with your payment to the UGA Extension Gwinnett office by Friday, February 27. Please note: Forms and payments may be submitted in person or by mail. Orders and payments will not be accepted by phone. See flyer at the end of this newsletter.

SAVE THE DATE Stripling Elementary STEM Night, Thursday March 26th

This year’s STEM Night Theme is “Glaciers”.  Put on your thinking caps and let Kathy know if you have any ideas for an interactive display/presentation that we can present to the students and their families at the event that is related to gardening, environment, or sustainability.  Please consider volunteering to help out at the event. Garden Club of Georgia

Our membership in the Norcross Garden Club, also includes membership in the Garden Club of Georgia.  GCG provides all members with a wealth of information and education through their website and the Garden Gateways publication. Registration deadlines for the convention and hotel group rate are coming up. Kathy Sumner is offering to drive others to the convention.  Contact her to confirm your seat in her SUV!
