Ellen Honeycutt is past president of the Georgia Native Plant Society and an active champion for appreciating native plants by incorporating them back into our landscapes. Before moving to Georgia 29 years ago she lived in southeastern Virginia and northern California. It was her exposure to the native plants of Georgia that sparked her passion in encouraging others to appreciate native plants. Outside of her day job with IBM, she spends time encouraging others to learn about and use native plants by helping to develop educational materials, newsletters for BotSoc and GNPS, and writing for several online blogs, including her own: http://usinggeorgianativeplants.blogspot.com. According to her family, she also approaches complete strangers to tell them about native and invasive plants.
