Signup Genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4CABAD2FABFDC43-41964166-2025#/ We have many open time slots to fill!
Above is the link to the Signup Genius for plant prep and setup tasks on Monday April 20 through Wednesday April 22, and the tasks and time slots for the Sale Dates-April 23-25. Please choose your times and tasks as soon as possible. We ask members who can, to donate time for sale prep and to work at least one 2-hour shift during the sale. We ask that you help as much as your schedule permits. If you have a family member, friend or neighbor who likes to work with plants, is able to carry plants and other garden items, or is good at sales, bring them along! There are tasks for all abilities. If you know any young people who need volunteer hours, we can use their help in moving plants and bringing plants to customers’ cars. All are welcome!!
The annual plant sale is our club’s most important fundraiser. To be successful, your participation and support is needed. We have an AWESOME selection of perennial plants, shrubs, annuals, vegetables and herbs. Spread the word! Our members are our best advocates for letting others know about our sale. Attached are copies of the plant sale cards in English and Spanish. Please post where you can and promote on your personal Facebook and Instagram accounts.
There are tasks for all abilities and interests. If you’re not able to volunteer during the plant sale, maybe you can bring a savory or sweet food item to fuel the volunteers working during the plant sale or prep days. If interested, please contact Cathy Nelmes to let her know what you can drop off. (404.455.9537 or raynelmes@aol.com)
Attached is a reference sheet for those members working during the Sale. Please read!
Individual Garden Digs– Have you been digging in your gardens? PLEASE make a list of the plant names and estimated quantity by type of plant that you will bring for the Plant Sale. Please send it to Jeanette Shewbert by April 20th. It doesn’t have to be fancy-a copy of a hand-written list is perfect. Take a picture and email or text to Jeanette (jmosowski@gmail.com); 770-329-1411) If you have any unusual plants, please provide a picture when you drop off your plants.
Treasures and House Plants
We are collecting “treasures” to sell inside the cottage during the plant sale. If you would like an item returned to you if it doesn’t sell, please label the item with your name. Please look around your homes and gardens for items that would be of interest to gardeners-decorative pots, yard art, garden tools, garden related magazines/books, seeds. Please, no sleeping bags, camping related items, household items (unless they have a garden theme). If you would not buy it, don’t bring it!
House plants are also needed for the sale and will be displayed in the cottage. Look around to see if you have any that you can divide to share for the sale. If you know the light and watering requirements for your house plant, please include an information card.
Please remember to collect large tray-type boxes from Costco, Sam’s, or Aldi. We need these for customers to carry their plant purchases to their vehicles.
Cottage Re-Construction Update
Reconstruction is complete! We have new flooring throughout the cottage, fresh paint and a new chair-height toilet. All the kitchen cabinets have been installed. The insurance company paid for all the water remediation and reconstruction, except for our deductible and the pipe replacement.
