This week in the garden – vol 53

What a week, what a sale! Garden Club of Georgia Week, Earth Day, Volunteer Day, and NGC Plant Sale all in one! Well done Norcross Garden Club! Whew!

Thank you to the many, many, many, hands that made the sale happen- so many hours of labor! It would not have been possible without Cathy Nelmes and Leanne Penman organizing and orchestrating in so many ways. THANK YOU!  A special thank you to the young people who helped us on Saturday-Victor Wickham, Paxton Joseph and Tixie’s youth team. The weather was perfect, and we got to spend time with garden club friends and helped customers find the perfect plants for their gardens. Thank you to the many hard-working Members who helped make this a successful sale- you are amazing!

There is still time to shop for plants! The remaining plants have been moved to the cottage garden. Check out the American Beauty Berry and the Trutti Fruitti butterfly bush. Proceeds of sales from these two plants benefit the Scholarship Fund.   There are tally sheets on the metal table and envelopes in a drawer of the table.  Please complete the tally sheet for any plants purchased (it’s not necessary to write the name of each plant, just record the quantity by each price point).  Put the tally sheet and your payment (cash or check) in an envelope and leave the envelope in the drawer of the table. All purchases must be completed by Thursday April 28th. If you have questions about the tally sheet or payment, please call or text Jeanette Shewbert (770.329.1411).

We would like to keep our garden looking tidy, so members please take a stack or bag of pots to store at your home for future use.

News Flash!  Kathy Sumner has agreed to be Plant Dig Chair for the 2023 Plant Sale.  Debbie Boyd will be her right-hand assistant along with a strong committee. Thank You to Kathy and Debbie and their committee members for stepping up to fill this key role.
