Tuesday, October 13th Meeting at the Norcross Cultural Arts & Community Center

6:00 pm Business Meeting and refreshments-We will start promptly at 6 PM so that we have ample time for our speaker’s presentation beginning at 6:45PM. Light refreshments and beverages will be served. This meeting is open to the public. Please spread the word to your neighbors and friends. There is a $5 admission fee for non-members. ·        Grocery store plastic bags for Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry

·        Pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House

·        Cash for door prize raffle, which supports our Scholarship Fund $1 ea, 6 tickets for $5

Fall Plant Sale and Setup Heritage Park-Setup is Friday, October 16th, 12PM-4PM and Sale is Saturday, October 17th10AM-2PM

We have Autumn Sedum, Lavender, Caladium and Elephant Ear bulbs which were rescued from the City containers; Iron plant and a few members are bringing plants from their gardens. Proceeds from the plant sale go to our Scholarship fund.

Peachtree Corners Garden Club will be joining us in Heritage Park.  They have their own plants to sell.  Some have been pre-ordered, and their members will be picking up their purchases.

Nominating Committee for 2027-2029 Board Members

A nominating committee is needed to recruit members to volunteer for board positions for the 2027-2029 term. The slate of officers for the next term will be presented to the membership at the November 2026 meeting. We will vote for new officers at the February 2027 meeting. Please contact Kathy Sumner if you can serve on the nominating committee or if you have interest in serving as an officer for the 2027-2029 term. (678.357.8684).

Monday, October 19th Gwinnett Master Gardeners Meeting 7pm Bethesda Senior Center

Speaker Charles Andrews, immediate past president of the Azalea Society of America, will talk about Native Azaleas. GCMGA meetings are free and open to the public. Tuesday, December 8th Our Holiday Celebration at the Cottage! Two seatings, 11AM for Brunch or 6PM for dinner. All are invited to attend one or both. Bring a consumable gift with a holiday poem or quote-original or borrowed, merry or mischievous.

Pedal Norcross, Saturday, October 17th 3-6PM Downtown Norcross We will share a table/booth with Sustainable Norcross. We will have handouts for membership, programs and cottage rental. Contact Kathy if you can help at the table. (678.357.8684)

Discovery Garden Park, 10th Anniversary Celebration, Saturday, October 17th 4pm-7pm

All are invited to stop by Discovery Garden Park for the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Visit the Garden Park to see what’s new.  There will be music, hors d’oeuvres, water and iced tea. Feel free to bring your own favorite beverage.

Lionheart Theater Spooky Walking Tour Thursday October 22nd through Sunday October 25th. The Lionheart Theatre Company’s signature spooky walking tour of Historic Downtown Norcross returns with even more restless spirits. One of the scenes will be in the front yard of our cottage! Two tours per evening at 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. This event sells out quickly, so order your tickets early. Appropriate for ages 10 and up. https://lionhearttheatre.org/tickets/

The Enchanted Forest Event is Sunday, November 1st at Johnson Dean Forest in Norcross.

Let us know if you or a friend would like to create a door to be placed in the forest. This is a family activity and many children in the area are excited about this experience every year. More information will be available as we get closer to Halloween.
