Great Southeast Pollinator Census
It’s time for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. We need volunteers for two community events involving our youth. The youth will actively participate in the count. Please join us for one or both of these events.
Friday, August 21st, Stripling Elementary School, 6155 Atlantic Boulevard, Norcross, GA 30071, 11:45 AM-2 PM
We will be working with the 2nd grade students. They will be divided into 3 groups. After you enter the school, please go to the Library. Please bring your driver’s license as they may ask for your identification. Trudy Rudert will give a brief powerpoint presentation that is an overview of how to identify the types of pollinators and how to count the pollinators. Then the teachers will lead the students to the school garden. We will spread out and help the children with identifying pollinators and recording the counts. Several Master Gardeners will also be there to help. The children get very excited. It’s fun to see them looking for pollinators and enjoying nature. Please text Kathy if you can help (678.357.8684)
