This Week In The Garden – vol. 105

National Garden Week Activities

June 6th – Tour of Duluth Cottage Garden with Eva Kuhn. Eva gave us a tour of her 6.5-acre garden and greenhouses. She talked about various plants in her gardens and allowed us to sample many different varieties of greens, herbs, vegetables and fruits. (See photos at end of newsletter)

June 8th – Flower arrangements for Meals on Wheels clients.

Members gathered at the cottage to make 75 flower arrangements for Meals on Wheels. It was a beautiful afternoon, and we were able to be outside and enjoy the cottage gardens aa we created floral arrangements to be distributed the following day. Thanks to Nancy O’Reilly, Gail Thompson, Jenny Allen, Linda Dorian, Trudy Rudert, Dorothy Archer, Debbie Boyd, Saundy Kittle, Jeanette Shewbert and Kathy Sumner for donating flowers, vases and helping with the arrangements.

We look forward to doing this again in July.  We would greatly appreciate it if members would save glass jars and bottles to donate as flower vases. See Jenny’s note of appreciation attached.
