Program: Alan Eckhardt presents, Pruning – How and When.  Alan will share his knowledge of pruning techniques.  We hope to have a hands-on demonstration with our cottage shrubs (weather permitting). Please dress accordingly.  Bring your pruning questions.

Monday, January 15th Gwinnett Masters Gardeners Meeting, 12PM

LOCATION: Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA

TOPIC: What Would Walter Do? GUEST SPEAKER: Ashley Frasca

For eight years, Ashley served as producer for the “Lawn & Garden Show,” under Walter Reeves. When Walter retired in February 2020, she became the host of “Green and Growing with Ashley Frasca,” airing every Saturday from 6-9 a.m. The show covers garden basics and includes expert interviews, features from around town, and garden questions from listeners.

GCMGA meetings are free and open to the public. If you would like to join us for lunch, please come at 11:30 and bring a dish to share.


Annual Dues Payment

Dues for 2024-25 must be paid by January 15, 2024. Dues are $60 per member. Two household members may hold membership for a single payment of $70. You may pay your membership dues at the January meeting with cash, check, debit or credit card. Or mail a check payable to Norcross Garden Club to PO Box 576, Norcross GA 30091. Please email Sue if you mail a check (suezq50@aol.com). Garden Therapy Christmas Project

Hazel Ringelstein delivered gift cards totaling $700 to the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry after our Holiday Party! A Heartfelt Thank You to all members who contributed gift cards. These helped provide food and gifts for families in need during the holiday season.


The Okefenokee Protection Act -House Bill 71

The Garden Club of Georgia is asking all Garden Club members to take action by contacting their State Legislators to remind them of the importance of passing House Bill 71.  The new legislative session begins on January 8th. Please consider calling and or writing to your State House and Senate representatives.  Attached to the email are several documents with detailed information about the Okefenokee Swamp and its importance and specific information on how to contact the Georgia legislators.


Help Wanted (and NEEDED)

We need members to help in several roles and committees.  Please let Kathy Sumner know what you would like to help with. Examples: Publicity, plant digs and sale, youth activities, giving talks or workshops, help writing up awards etc. Please let us know what your talents are and how you would like to help the Norcross Garden Club. Cottage Garden Care

We encourage members to stop by anytime it’s convenient for weeding in our garden. Bring a friend or family member with you to pick up debris and pull a few weeds!  If you have any questions, please text Pam Cammarata (770-314-9541).
