Plant Sale – APRIL 22 & 23 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

From Cathy Nelmes/Plant Dig Chair 404.455.9537 (mobile)

It’s Time!  We can feel Spring in the air.  The Annual plant sale is not far away.

We hope that all members can and will participate in one way or another in this year’s sale.  We are starting with our first event which is the Training Dig for our newer members.  Invitations have gone out. Let Cathy know if she inadvertently missed sending an invite to any new member.  Please contact her if you haven't participated in a “dig” or attended a training dig.  We want all members to be confident in their own gardens as well as others when we have our Club Digs.  It’s all easily done and shows new members how we like to use the resources we have.

Cathy is starting to set up digs and getting supplies such as pots and soil into convenient areas.  She will contact those who have been active in the past as well as other members who may be more available now.  Please call or text her your availability as well.   Check out your gardens if you haven't been out there in a bit - shrubs and trees are starting to bud, daffodils are up, our perennials are not far behind!   Think about what you may be able to contribute from your garden for the sale.

2022 Georgia Legislative Issues of importance to Garden Club of Georgia

The Georgia Legislative session has begun, and many bills are being introduced that concern our members.   Okefenokee Swamp protection and Coal Ash disposal are the two big concerns.  The Georgia Water Coalition has provided a wonderful summary of the issues being followed - and a request to contact your legislator - you can write your own letter, or use the link provided [which will automatically send to your legislators from the address you provide].  Please see the attached document for more information.
