Arbor Day Tree Planting at the Cottage

Joy Penland and Leanne Penman transplanted a Shoal Creek Chaste Tree (genus VItex agnus-castus) from Joy’s back garden to the cottage garden on Georgia Arbor Day, February 18th. Its new home is outside the dining room windows. The Chaste tree has desirable qualities for the urban landscape. It blooms violet flowers which are a magnet for pollinators. The foliage is fragrant, and it is drought and deer tolerant. It is also touted as one of the best plants for Georgia gardens.  Thank you Joy for your contribution! And thank you to Leanne and Joy for planting our new tree!

Cottage Garden Care Team

No February workdays are planned.  Stop by anytime to pull weeds, pick up debris, trim as needed, etc. We also have Plot 3 at Discovery Garden that needs attention. Invite a friend to spend a little time outdoors with you while tending to our garden! Ask a fellow club member to join you in the garden. Contact Pam Cammarata if you have questions or need more information. (770-314-9541; pmcsmile@yahoo.com).
