This week in the garden – vol 72

New Pollinator Garden

Member Bill Berry will be at the cottage 2pm to 4pm every day working on the new pollinator garden until the project is finished.

All are welcome to help with the planting.

A big Thank You to Bill, Gail, and Leanne for their teamwork on the Pollinator Garden Project.  Also Thank You to David Penman for putting in soil.


Youth Sculpture Contest, Sunday Oct 2nd 1p-4p at the Cottage

Come join us at the cottage this Sunday to help with the Youth Sculpture Art Project. There are two time slots: 12 noon to 2:30pm and 2:30pm to 5:0pm. The first time slot is full. Dogwood District Annual Meeting-Wednesday, October 19th

The guest speaker is Spencer Tunnell. He will speak about the Olmsted Linear Park design in Druid Hills. It was the last residential suburb designed by Olmsted, and the only one in the Deep South.  We hope you can join us. It’s always enjoyable being together with garden club members!

Norcross Garden Club FALL PLANT SALE, Thursday, November 3rd 3p-7p and Friday, November 4th 10a-7p

Fall Plant Sale Digs and Volunteers NEEDED for Plant Sale prep week and the actual sale dates, November 3rdand 4th.  Let us know what you can do. This is a fundraiser for the club and also supports our scholarship sponsorship, so we need as many volunteers as we can get for a successful sale!

  • Need Help digging plants from your garden?
  • Can you help dig plants from other gardens?
  • Can you commit to taking care of plants from digs for the plant sale?
  • Can you overwinter plants at your home?
  • Volunteers needed for the November Plant Sale Prep and Sale Days

o   Plant prep: potting, sorting, labeling, and marking with sale prices

o   Sales assistance for customers during the sale

o   Loading customer purchases

o   Collect boxes for transport of plants to customer cars

o   If you’re unable to dig, there are many tasks that you can help with

  • Please contact Kathy Sumner at 678-357-8684 to request help or to volunteer. We need every member who is able, to help with this event.
