Request for Green Glass Bottles

Please save green beer bottles and glass Perrier water bottles. We’re planning to provide floral arrangements for Meals on Wheels clients in the near future. This size bottle works great. Please drop off the bottles at the cottage.

National Pollinator Week June 17 – 23

Sustainable Norcross invites all to honor our buzzing pollinator friends this month. Observe busy pollinators in your own garden and in your neighborhood. Add a pollinator-friendly plant to your garden or container gardens. Pike Nurseries suggest adding some of these pollinator favorites: Salvia, Lantana, Pentas, Angelonia, Marigolds. Pike also recently featured a suggestion for creating a “bee bath”—fill a shallow dish with stones and add water, place near a container garden or any place in your garden near pollinator plants. This simple bee bath gives the bees a place to rest and re-hydrate.

SAVE THE DATE: June 19th 6:30 pm Speaker Quinn Yawger-Sustainability

After graduating with a degree in Environmental Science, Quinn relocated to Atlanta in early 2022 to pursue film and connected with Earth Angel (https://www.earthangelsets.com) over a shared desire to provide solutions to reduce the environmental impact of the entertainment industry. She is ecstatic to be part of the team and is eager to support the growth of Earth Angel in the state of Georgia. In her free time, Quinn focuses on the power of storytelling and science communication and is currently finalizing the post-production of her first climate-centered, short-form documentary.

Please feel free to invite a friend!
