Sam Landes- “Fascinating World of Fungi”

Doors open 6:30, Meeting begins at 7. Please RSVP to Debbie Boyd Debbie.boyd@comcast.

Sam Landes will share his lifelong interest – “Edible Mushrooms: Foraging, Identifying and Growing.”  He will explain why fungi deserves attention. For instance, there are over 70 species of mushrooms that glow in the dark! In the Amazon Rainforest, mushrooms get the credit for triggering precipitation, and Ancient Egyptians believed the fungi were the plant of immortality. Sam’s presentation offers an excellent chance to learn more fascinating facts, while he opens the door to the amazing world of mushrooms.

Sam spoke to the Gwinnett County Master Gardeners in 2019 and again in 2021 because he was one of their most acclaimed speakers in 2019!
