Valentine Cards and Arbor Day Recap
Seventeen members came to the February meeting to assemble Thinking of You cards for the Norcross Meals on Wheels clients. We wrote a cheerful short greeting inside the “Rose” notecard and attached a Ghiaradelli chocolate. 170 cards were given to Jenny Allen for the MOW clients. Members enjoyed brunch and visiting with Garden Club friends.
Eleven members assembled goody bags for the Baldwin Elementary 3rd graders. We joined the Arbor Day celebration hosted by the city of Norcross. The students enjoyed interacting with Craig Newton, Norcross Mayor and others. They had a photo op with the Mayor for the tree planting and participated in a group activity. They especially liked the homemade surprise in their goody bag. Thanks to Leanne Penman for baking the delicious tree-shaped rice Krispie treats. Despite the chilly weather, a good time was had by all!
